FROM INJURY TO COMPETITION
Four steps back to your sport
1. Settle. Get pain and swelling under control without shutting your body down completely.
2. Rebuild. Regain mobility and strength, first under control, then with increasing load.
3. Sport-specific. Jumping, changing direction, speed: we train exactly what your sport demands.
4. Return. Before you go back fully, we test whether your strength and control are up to it.
Our physio team has worked with athletes from almost every sport, including ice hockey, handball, volleyball, football, street hockey, rowing, CrossFit and dance, up to national team level. With a doctor's referral, treatment is covered by basic health insurance, or by accident insurance after a sports injury.
Frequently asked questions about sports physiotherapy in Cham
-
Is sports physiotherapy only for professional athletes?
No. We treat recreational athletes just as we treat competitive ones. What matters is that you want to get back to your sport, whatever your level.
-
How is it different from regular physiotherapy?
The goal. In sports physiotherapy, being pain-free isn't enough. We prepare you for the specific demands of your sport, including jumping, changing direction and speed.
-
When can I return to full training?
When your body is ready, not when the calendar says so. Before you go back to full training, we test whether your strength, control and load tolerance are good enough. How long that takes depends on the injury.
-
Can I keep training during rehab?
In most cases, yes, adapted to your injury. We show you what you can train so you don't lose all your fitness, and what to leave out for now.
-
Is sports physiotherapy covered by health insurance?
Yes, with a doctor's referral, basic health insurance covers the cost, or your accident insurance after a sports injury. Without a referral, you pay for it yourself: CHF 90 for 30 minutes. You'll find all our fees on our prices page.
-
Which sports do you work with?
Almost all of them. Our physio team has worked with athletes in ice hockey, handball, volleyball, football, street hockey, rowing, CrossFit and dance, up to national team level.
-
What happens after sports physiotherapy?
You can keep training with us so the injury doesn't come back, either in personal training with a physiotherapist or, from 2 January 2027, at the ARB Fitness gym at the Papieri site, right next door.
